Stand where one of the Seven Wonders stood

Walk around the remains of the Mausoleum at Halikarnassos in Bodrum: the name of this monumental tomb for Maussollos gave us the word ‘mausoleum’. Some of its stones were later reused in Bodrum Castle. Photograph the foundations from an accessible area where photography is permitted, and note how one tomb’s name became a word for others.
